A Convenient Truth: Introduction

This 15 minute movie aims to tell, in the simplest of terms, the story of the importance of trees, how global deforestation has been a major contributor to climate change, and how we can turn this tide and help forests to mitigate it.

It sets out a six-point plan for action at global, and local, level to ensure forests are employed to their full to combat further climate change.

The story is told in an accessible narrative with some striking images, maps and charts that help explain what can be a very complex topic.

Although primarily aimed at adults, it should be as suitable for the secondary classroom or lecture room as it is for the boardroom and is already being used in colleges and universities.

Primary school teachers might also find segments of the video to be helpful as a teaching aid and the video has been split into chapters to make this easier.

To ensure accuracy and integrity all the facts and figures used in the video are taken from the best sources available.

Some of these are listed on the right.
